Objective
To detail how to set up and use the Hall Pass feature.
Hall Passes can be issued directly on a student’s device, a class device, or remotely from your Dashboard.
Students have to have People records with a Student Identity, information in the Student ID field, and be logged into a device to be issued Hall Passes from their devices.
Students without connected devices can be issued Hall Passes from the Dashboard.
MyID is no longer required in order to utilize Hall Pass. The log in process is used to authenticate the Hall Pass recipients Identity.

Administrators and Teachers can issue Hall Passes to Students.

Hall Pass Administrator Setup
The Hall Pass management is an account type related right, as the Administrators and the Teachers (Identities) have this right.
You can view the Current Hall Passes, manage the Hall Pass Reasons, and manage the Settings.
In the Settings you can:
- decide if security Pins are needed for Hall Passes to be issued and to check-in.
- select to notify students on expiration of their Hall Passes.
- choose to set up emails to be notified when Hall Passes expire.
The default number of hall passes issued is 10, but it can be reset at any time in the Settings by a Dashboard Administrator.
The maximum number you can make the remaining Hall Passes for students is 99.
Administrators
Dashboard Administrators:
Can create, edit, and delete in the Hall Pass Reasons menu
Determine how many passes a student receives and this can be edited for individual students at any time in their person records, or reset for all in Settings as shown above
Administrators and Teachers
Can issue Hall Passes from the Dashboard
Can approve and issue Hall Passes from a Students' device
Can check the Current Hall Passes
Can edit the Settings in the Hall Pass menu
Students
In order for a hall pass to be issued, the student needs to have a Student Identity, a Student ID associated and be logged in to the App.
This means that on a device (a student's, classrooms' OR teacher's), the hall pass can be issued in the App or through the Dashboard.
Or if a student requests a Hall Pass, the Teacher or Admin can issue it from the Dashboard without them being logged into a device.
How to use the Hall Pass Feature
Administrators and Teachers
From the Dashboard
Step 1: Click "Features" on the left hand column, click "Hall Pass"
Step 2: Find the student you want to issue a Hall Pass to and click on the stopwatch icon
Step 3: Fill out information and then select "Issue" in the bottom right hand corner to issue the Hall Pass
Students do not need connected devices to be issued Hall Passes from the Dashboard.
Students
Students can request a Hall Pass from the App on their Device.
The Student must be logged in to My ID and have a Student ID which displays under their username.
Step 1: They select Hall Pass and then they, or their Teacher, selects the issuing Teacher, the Reason and duration of the Hall Pass.
Step 2: Then select ' Create Hall Pass' and then the Teacher enters their PIN to issue the Hall Pass.
